“Hello! Here is something interesting”*

The Sailings

The last RSS of the current season (2014/2015) departs from Canary Wharf at 3.00pm on Sunday 26 April 2015. Crew should plan to be on board for 2.45. The Captain of the day is Victor Hamilton. Our final study for this session is SixN.

The next sailing following that is the Annual Outing on Sunday afternoon 31 May. This will be a guided walk in Belfast city centre to mark the 90th anniversary of Sir Arthur’s visit. It will be followed by our after-walk event at a nearby hostelry. More details will be given at the sailing on 26 April and also in Mayday Mayday No.134 (due mid May).

We’ve also slotted in an additional sailing, on Tuesday evening 23 June. This will be to enable local crew to watch Mr. Holmes together. The film is due for release in the UK and Ireland on Friday 19 June. There’ll be more about the venue and time etc later. You can watch the trailer here.

The most up to date sailing schedule is always available online.

Ulster Hall event

Lost & Found Department: Sherlock Holmes (1916)

Here’s an article worth reading; it’s from the BFI’s Sight & Sound magazine, about the restored classic (a much overused word but in this case it’s bang on) Sherlock Holmes (1916) starring William Gillette.

And Finally

In case you’ve haven’t already watched this or want to do so again, here’s an entertaining and brief look at the History of Sherlock Holmes.
