“I was much astounded by this programme” (again!)
“Sherlock Sunday”
Fans of the great detective have a real treat in store tonight. Not just the finale of Sherlock Series 3 on BBC One but a brand new documentary (which starts straight after Sherlock finishes, over on BBC Four). Before Sherlock, at 6pm, Countryfile, also on BBC One, includes a major SH item.
Tonight’s line-up is as follows:
Countryfile at 6pm on BBC One, with John Craven, explores the countryside beloved by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The programme, it’s not just all about SH/ACD, includes a peek inside his former home where he wrote The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Sherlock, Episode 3, ‘His Last Vow’ at 8.30pm on BBC One.
This, the Season 3 finale, is also repeated on Friday at 9pm on BBC Three.
Ask the show’s creators your questions here. For live discussion tonight!
Timeshift: How to be Sherlock Holmes – the many faces of a Master Detective at 10pm on BBC Four. There’s a short review of the programme here. It’s repeated on Wednesday 15th at 8pm, also on BBC Four.
Catch-up!
Friday’s Now show on BBC Radio4 (episode 1 0f 5, repeated yesterday) included a Sherlock skit (near the end). Listen again here.
The first episode of Great Railway Journey’s (running Mondays to Fridays on BBC Two) took viewers to the Wirral Peninsula. Members who were present at the London Society’s Liverpool Weekend in 1993 would have particularly enjoyed the inclusion of Port Sunlight village and the Birkenhead Tramway Museum in the programme. Catch it again here. Other programmes in the series are also available on the BBC iPlayer.
