Gyles Brandreth will unveil a plaque at the Langham Hotel in London on Friday, 19 March, commemorating the historic meeting there in 1889 between Conan Doyle and Oscar Wilde.

DVD DATE DELAY

Warner Home Video has pushed back the UK launch of Sherlock Holmes (2009) on DVD and Blu-ray to 17 May. It had been expected on 19/26 April. The US release date is still scheduled for 30 March.

HOLMES & WATSON SET FOR NEW WIRELESS ADVENTURE

BBC Radio 4 will be broadcasting The Marlbourne Point Mystery on 5 and 6 April. Clive Merrison and Andrew Sachs will reprise their roles as Holmes and Watson in a pastiche written by Bert Coules.

IT’S AN IFTA FOR RDJ!

Robert Downey Jr. has won an Irish Film and Television Award. He topped the ‘Best International Actor’ category for his starring role in Sherlock Holmes (2009) at the annual IFTA ceremony held in Dublin on 20 Feb 2010.
