That Other Sherlock Holmes Movie.

Not to be confused with the Warner Bros blockbuster, Asylum’s production Sherlock Holmes is being released on DVD in the UK on Monday 26 April 2010 by Revolver Entertainment.   www.amazon.co.uk have it  it for £4.99.  To whet your appetite, here’s a trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vH9RPOCBmL.


The film is being shown on SyFy (formerly Sci Fi channel) on Thursday 22 April 2010 at 10pm.  http://www.syfy.co.uk/schedule/year/2010/month/04/day/22.  The channel is also repeating it throughout the week. Please see local listings for details.

Talking of the Warner Bros movie, there are reviews of the DVD/Blue-ray releases (due in UK on Monday 17 May 2010) in the June issues of Empire and Total Film magazines.

Sherlock Holmes Heads for Saturn.

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films has announced the nominations for the 36th Saturn Awards.  Sherlock Holmes (2009) has received 8 nominations.  The awards will be presented at a ceremony in California on Thursday 24 June 2010.  http://www.sshf.com/news.php?id=752.  This link is in French.  For a translation try http://translate.google.com.


Holmes Collection on the Move.

Curator Catherine Cooke has advised that the Sherlock Holmes collection at Marylebone has moved (as from Monday 19 April 2010) from the old library building into the council house, and will be inaccessible for a while.  http://www.sherlock-holmes.org.uk/district.php.


Sherlock Meets His Violin at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.
